For those of you don't know, trim is the plastic, vinyl or rubber pieces between and around your painted panels. You may remember that they had a deep, bold black look when you first got your car, but now they are faded and dull. Well, thanks for our friend the sun, your dark, vinyl, plastic or rubber trim is being heavily hit with UV rays causing oxidation which leads to dulling, fading and cracking. Rain, snow and other environmental contaminants also pose a threat to your trim. Luckily, there are products out there in the Pinnacle line that will help bring your trim back to life and prevent these problems from ever happening again in the future.

Get Ready:

First, make sure you have all of your products and tools ready and that you are working on a cool surface and out of direct sunlight. This is norm with almost all detailing procedures!

Protect:

Next, to be cautious, put on a pair of Black Nitrile Gloves. These gloves will protect your hands from any products that may sling or drip your way. These gloves are easy to put on and take off, have a good grip and won't hinder your process in any way.

Prep:

Now, we are ready to prep the surface for a coating. To do this, we are going to use the Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Surface Prep Spray. This convenient spray bottle is easy-to-use as all you have to do is spray the Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Surface Prep Spray directly onto your trim and then wipe away the product with a Blue All Purpose Microfiber Towel or a Black All Purpose & Wheel Detailing Microfiber Towel. It's important to note that when wiping away residue, that each time you take a swipe, you are using a clean side of the towel to prevent reapplying the contamination. To best use your towel, fold the towel into fourths and with each swipe, switch to new a quarter.

Restore:

You have two options here depending on the type of trim restoration you are looking for. If you are looking for ceramic protection that will last longer and look great but will cost you more, than Pinnacle Black Label Ceramic Trim Restorer is for you. If you are looking for a product that will look great, be protected and is cost effective, but will require more applications then turn to Pinnacle Onyx Trim Restorer. Both truly great products that will get the job done of perfecting and protecting your trim. They both are applied in the same way! Apply a pea-sized drop of product to your Microfiber Applicator Pad and work into the surface of your trim in an even layer. Once evenly applied, lightly wipe away product with a Blue All Purpose Microfiber Towel or a Black All Purpose & Wheel Detailing Microfiber Towel. The same rules of wiping apply here as the did to the Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Surface Prep Spray. Use your best judgement as to when the Microfiber Applicator Pad needs to be switched to a new one. You will be able to tell by how saturated the pad is.

Finish:

It's critical that you allow the Pinnacle Black Label Ceramic Trim Restore to cure (settle) for three hours before driving and to keep it away from any contact with moisture for twelve hours. The Pinnacle Onyx Trim Restorer does not require any cure time. Other than that, enjoy your renewed jet-black finished trim!
