How to Apply a Ceramic Coating Easily

Dr. Beasley's Nano LS-10.

Nano LS-10 is a multi-surface compatible ceramic coating for vehicle exteriors. We developed this product after hearing the same feedback from multiple customers:

"Pro-style' ceramic coatings are too difficult to apply. The alternative, "Easy-to-Use" ceramic sprays, don't work well.

Knowing this, our research and development team (led by Dr. Beasley's Founder Jim Lafeber) looked at existing ceramic sprays to figure out what was missing.

What was it? A genuine ceramic coating formulation.

After months of testing, the R&D team came away with a new product that could be:

• Actually protect like a coating (Great for everyone)
• Applied to multiple surfaces (Great for fast work)
• Applied in the sunlight (Great for mobile detailers)

So how do you use Nano LS-10? It depends on where you're going to use it!

For outdoor application, our product expert and Director of Success Chris Racana recommends the "Two Towel Method" he picked up from Christyan, the foreman at our Chicago detail shop, Simon's.

The Nano LS-10 "Two Towel Method" (For Outdoor Application Out of Sun)

1. Mist Nano LS-10 onto a panel with even coverage (TIP: To extend durability, be sure the finish is as clean as possible before application.)

Mist Dr. Beasley's Nano LS-10 onto the surface.

2. Wipe Towel One across the panel in a crosshatch pattern to ensure even and complete coverage of the panel. (TIP: To maximize towel usage, fold into fourths and switch sides when saturated.)

3. Use Towel Two to buff off any remaining excess. Wipe away excess product with a microfiber towel.

4. Move on to the next panel and repeat until all desired surfaces are coated. (TIP: You can use Nano LS-10 on plastic trim, badging, headlights and chrome in addition to the paint.)

But let's say you're a DIYer, detailing on your home driveway. You don't necessarily have the shade to apply out of the sun. What then?

Well, like we mentioned earlier, we engineered LS-10 specifically to work just as well in direct sunlight.

And through some real-world testing, Director of Success Chris Racana found a “One Towel Method" was best for working in the sun:

The Nano LS-10 "One Towel Method" (For Outdoor Application In Sun)

1. Mist Nano LS-10 onto a panel or small area. If working with a larger panel, divide into smaller sections.

2. Use a single towel to level and buff off the applied LS-10. (TIP: If high spots occur, just re-apply Nano LS-10 to re-emulsify the product and level!) Move on to the next panel or small area and repeat.

Have the luxury of applying indoors? Chris says you can actually speed up application with a variation on the "Two Towel Method" he learned from Authorized Detailer Von Ahlene of Washlab Auto Spa + Detail Studio based in Buena Vista, CO:

The Nano LS-10 “Fast Two Towel Method" (For Indoor Application)

1. Mist Nano LS-10 onto half of the vehicle (Half the hood, driver's side panels, half the roof, etc)
2. Use Towel One across the vehicle half, being sure to get full and even coverage.
3. Use Towel Two to buff off any remaining excess on the vehicle half.
4. Repeat on the other half of the vehicle.

How to Maintain a Nano LS-10 Coating

Much like a "pro-style" ceramic coating, you'll get back what you put in with Nano LS-10. So the better you maintain the coating, the longer you'll see it protecting!

1. For maximum durability, avoid washing for one week after applying Nano LS-10.
2. Wash every two weeks (or as needed) with Dr. Beasley's Ceramic Body Wash.

No need to use Dr. Beasley's AdvanceCoat: Gloss — just re-apply when needed!

How Well Does This Coating Play With Others?

Nano LS-10 was engineered to be a standalone coating and we recommend it to be used as such. That being said, Nano LS-10 will still work with another coating on top – we're just saying your mileage may vary. So feel free to experiment!
