Since 1982, Eurosport Daytona, Inc. has manufactured high quality decorative and import license plates for the American auto market. The company’s founder Anthony Schimenti began the company after traveling to Europe as a contractor. At the time he was building housing for several German clients. As a life-long car enthusiast, Schimenti was fascinated by the automobiles and accessories offered only in Europe. Upon returning home to Florida, he brought license plates for himself and friends. He discovered a tremendous enthusiasm existed here in the states for these European license plates.
Eurosport Daytona opened its doors to an overwhelming demand for custom license plates, so much so that Schimenti quickly purchased the equipment to manufacture the majority of their products here in the U.S. Most of the raw materials are still purchased from Europe to ensure the authenticity of their products.
Eurosport Daytona established themselves as manufacturer of license plates and accessories, distributed exclusively through fine auto boutiques, catalogues, and warehouse distributors.
The original plate from Eurosport Daytona was the Euro-Plate line, which includes the long, rectangular German aluminum plates, oval tourist plates, Japanese and UK acrylic plates. Over the last few decades, EuroSport Daytona has stayed on top of changes to the authentic license plates, such as the EEC designs, to stay true to the plates’ origin.
In 1985 Eurosport Daytona started producing Lazer-Tags. These laser-cut, hand-assembled acrylic plates are available with car logos, sports teams, and a wide variety of symbols and designs. Because of the variety and demand of these plates, Eurosport Daytona purchased their own manufacturing facility and all their products have been produced in house since 1995.
Since the metallic Lazer-Tags have been such a success, Eurosport Daytona developed the Stainless-Style plates. Stainless-Style plates are available in over 100 styles, from flags to auto logos.
Today Eurosport Daytona works to introduce new and exciting aftermarket accessories to consumers, while updating its long-standing lines with fresh designs. The company has recently expanded into a 14,000 sq. ft. building to accommodate Eurosport Daytona’s continued growth.
