Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper 500 ml.

Put an end to rusty brake rotors!

Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper puts an end to a common problem that plagues every detailer and car care enthusiast after a car wash – rusty brake rotors! Through the use of advanced chemistry, Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper blankets your brake rotors in a protective film that prevents “rust dust” – the initial brake dust on clean wheels that occurs after washing. Application is as simple as spraying on and walking away!

“Rust” and “detail” are two words that should never be used in the same sentence. Unfortunately, those words go together more often than they should because as every detailer and car care enthusiast has experienced, brake rotors often form light surface rust after being cleaned. Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper is the solution that you've been dreaming of!

Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper couldn't possibly be any easier to use. First, make sure the brake rotor has been thoroughly cleaned. Before it has time to dry, spray an ample amount of Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper directly onto the rotor. Wipe away any excess liquid inside the wheel, and that's it!

Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper is acid-free and pH-balanced. It will not harm brake components and it is safe for all wheel finishes.

Say goodbye to rusty brake rotors and say hello to Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper!

Works great on my 911 with drilled rotors.
Here is my method, which has produced excellent results each time I wash my cars: I wash the car first, then do the wheels. I spray the rotors with Hyde's Rust Stopper before cleaning the wheels and barrels with Dawn. I finally dry the car and wheels with an electric leaf bower, then briefly move the car back and forth on the driveway so the pads wipe the rotors. I usually apply the tire dressing and wipe the wheels with detail spray after cleaning the windows. The rotors have never formed any rust when I use this procedure. I see the same results when I use the product on my Challenger's slotted rotors.
ProsReally saves a lot of headaches by eliminating the dreaded rusty rotors.
ConsNone at all.

Doesn't work on perforated rotors
While this might work on standard rotors; it has no effect on perforated (drilled) rotors. There was still a large amount of flash rusting despite following the directions to the letter and using copious amounts of the product. I had been so excited to use this product after seeing the advertisements; however I will never use it again as I am still left having to hand clean each wheel from the rust "fling" that I get despite the use of "Hyde's Serum Rust Stopper." This was used on a 2013 BMW M5 and was an epic fail. I'm not going to bother using it on my other vehicle since I don't get the flash rust issue like I do on the high performance rotors (no, they are not ceramic).
ProsI haven't personally experienced any
ConsDoes not work on perforated, cross drilled rotors

Perforated Rotors = useless
I'm obsessed with clean wheels and bought 2 bottles of this product as I had been searching for a product that eliminates flash rust. I used it on a 2013 BMW M5 and it was absolutely useless. I followed the directions to the letter; and even tried using it 3 different times; however each time it still allowed some surface rust. FOR PERFORATED ROTORS, it's a rust reducer not eliminator and I still had rust fling all over wheel WHICH was harder to remove due to product. I also had some clouding of the wheel which resulted in having to clay, polish, and re-seal 2 of my wheels where I generously applied it, wiped excess like instructions online (and watched youtube videos). Might be awesome for "solid rotors" but for perforated it leaves rust. Less rust or not, I'm still re-cleaning the wheel as it doesn't STOP rust. Kind of like saying I'm only a little bit pregnant - either you stop rust or you don't; and this is the most disappointing product I've ever gotten from AutoGeek and I buy a ton of stuff. Amateur detailer and wheel enthusiast for over 25 years. Save your time, money and aggravation and do it the old way b/c you're still going to have rust fling except you might have new issues like I did YMMV....
Prosvideos show it working on flat rotors; but I'm not willing to try on another vehicle. 2 new bottles going in trash can.
Consperforated rotors: it doesn't work at all and creates more work in the end. Worst detailing product I've ever purchased and I was extremely excited about this product prior to using it.

Works as Advertised
I am running semi matte black wheels on my Audi A4. The surface rusting of my rotors during washes was excessive, especially on the rears. Even with the immediate use of a Metro Master Blaster blower to dry the rotors, it just wasn't enough to prevent the flash rusting from occurring. The minute I would drive and stop my freshly washed car, the thin dried layer of rust on my rotors would end up as a fine layer of reddish rust powder on my just cleaned black rims! I have found the Hyde Serum Ruststopper to work as advertised though I have found you have to apply it multiple times throughout the wash process in order to achieve success with it. Once after you've rinsed your wheel cleaner and a second time when you've completed rinsing the remainder of your vehicle. I recommend blow drying your wheels and rotors immediately after your final rinse of the vehicle. I have found Hyde Serum to be completely safe on my semi matte black rims when used as directed. Even applying two applications per wash, I have found the Hyde Serum Ruststopper to be fairly economical. I highly recommend Hyde Serum Ruststopper to anyone with this problem.
