Restores valuable oils to the gel coat of your boat or RV!

It may come as a surprise that the gel coat on a boat’s hull is actually a porous surface. It has millions of tiny holes in it that can fill with microscopic debris and water-dwelling organisms. If these contaminants are not cleaned out from time to time, they will cause oxidation and an overall dulling of the surface. The oxidation looks like white chalk and it will cause colored portions of the hull to appear faded. The only way to prevent this is to polish your boat and then protect it with wax.

Meguiar’s #45 Marine/RV Polish is designed for the special needs of boats and RVs. Because both boats and RVs are made of fiberglass, they have a porous gel coat. This polish is designed to penetrate the pores and remove contamination while depositing nourishing oils. These oils wet the gel coat to create a rich, vibrant shine. Once you apply a coat of Meguiar’s #56 Boat/RV Pure Wax, your boat or RV will have a high gloss shine that withstands the elements, even salt water.

Meguiar’s #45 Marine/RV Polish is especially effective on dark colored boats. Because the color coat is below the gel coat, oxidation that occurs in the gel coat obscures the color of the boat. Polishing the gel coat regularly will keep the color crisp and clear for the life of your boat. Plus, the slick, glossy finish will cut down on friction as the boat glides through the water. On an RV, Meguiar’s #45 Marine/RV polish maintains the shine and depth of color to keep your home away from home looking its best!

Apply #45 Marine/RV Polish with a machine polisher, like the Porter Cable 7424XP, for best results. Use a white polishing pad and work at a speed between 3000-4000 OPM, or 1000-1200 RPM on an orbital polisher. When the polish starts to dry, turn off the machine and buff away the haze with a microfiber towel. Clean up your used pads and towels in a solution of DP Polishing Pad Rejuvenator and water. The strong citrus cleaner will release polish from foam and microfiber to prolong the life of your detailing tools.

Meguiar’s #45 Marine/RV Polish will invigorate gel-coated fiberglass with oils to bring out a beautiful, high gloss shine. In the water or on land, #45 will polish fiberglass to perfection!

I'm not sure if this product is for the first time user even on a new surface. The product is applied to a new motor home with a new baby diaper and removed with a micro fiber cloth but since this product soaks into the surface it seems very hard to get a perfect glossy finish without marks. I'm also trying 3m Boat and RV wax.
