Poorboy's World Spray & Rinse Wheel Cleaner
Worked just like bottle said it would.
Sprayed on all four cold wheels, let it sit for 5 minutes and pressure washed (low pressure) it off.
I didn't scrub at all and I bet if I did, it could have gotten off off the little bit that didn't spray off (see close up pict)
ProsFelt price and performance were spot on.
Consnone that I'm aware off.

I have a Range Rover thats spits brake dust constantly and my wheels never stay clean. I read the reviews and gave his a try. Very impressed to say the least. Sprayed on, let sit for 60-90 sec and all the stubborn brake dust rinsed right off! This will save me a ton of time going forward and would recommend this product to all who fight to keep their wheels clean.
ProsEase of use, does what it says. Cuts the time spent on my wheels by 90%.

Used this 2 times so far. It truly is a spray and rinse cleaner. I was a bit skeptical about this as my last wheel cleaner was advertised as "no scrub", but still needed to be worked a bit to get all the brake dust off. The Poorboy wheel cleaner goes on easy, doesn't have a harsh smell, and just works!
ProsNo scrubbing needed
No harsh smell
ConsNone so far

Works as advertised.

Inexpensive, easy to come by, and it works well. What's not to like. Use it full strength (i.e. don't dilute it) and it should pull most of the brake dust build up off your rims.

Did not work as advertised (spray on - wash off). Took off lighter coating of road dirt. Had to scrub wheels with a rag to get the wheels clean. Finally got a good shine but required more work than just spray on - wash off. Not much difference than off the shelf products at half the price.
Your web site and this product was recommended by someone who does auto detailing. I like your site not sure about the product.

This really is a great wheel cleaner, and I only needed to wipe to remove break dust in hard to reach areas.
I don't think I've ever used a wheel cleaner that worked this fast.
The only think you need to keep in mind when spraying the product:
-Hold your breath
-Make sure you're up wind

It Really Works!
I've got a 2014 SL550 with the worst dusting brake pads that MB has ever made. I can't go 200 miles without my wheels looking like they're on a 1970's Mercedes diesel taxi.
I've tried numerous wheel cleaners, from Chemical Guys, Meguiars, the German products, and finally Poor Boy's. And finally a wheel cleaner that works exactly as advertised. All I do is spray the cool wheels with water, then I spray the PB wheel cleaner on, then 5 minutes later I rinse the wheels off, and they're really clean! No more brushing, wiping, sponging, and cleaning and cleaning and cleaning! This stuff really works.
The only drawback is if you use "standard" hand sprayers, the PB Wheel cleaner seems to destroy the sprayer. I finally had to buy a quart so I'd get the right sprayer. Before I was buying in gallons, and using "normal" sprayers... which lasted for about 2 weeks at best.
But even with it's "appetite" for spray bottles, I'm staying with it. No more Chemical Guys, or any of the other multitude of brands and kinds that I've got... which are all now gathering dust in the back of my storeroom.
One other detail; some of the instructions don't mention that you can dilute this product. Try it with a third water to two thirds cleaner, and see if it does your job. If not, go back to "full strength", but if it works at the diluted strength, stay with that... your hand sprayer will last a lot longer....

Works for me
I used this on both my cars last weekend and let me tell you it works. Although my wheels were not terribly dirty, it has been at least 2-3 weeks since I last cleaned them. I used it without scrubbing and it worked very well . What little grime was left came right off when I dried my wheels.
ProsEasy to use and not too pricey.

Great wheel cleaner, but spray pump broke after a couple of uses.
Hi. Well, the actual product works great. Cleans wheels with (almost) no scrubbing needed. My wheels are multi-spoke so getting into the tight corners always requires scrubbing with a small brush, but this stuff definitely reduces the effort. If the spoiling is light, it almost rinses straight off.
ProsCleans great. Just as advertised.
ConsGet's used up pretty fast. After 4 washes (16 wheels) the bottle is down to 1/3 full.
The Sprayer stopped working after about 8 wheels. Had to buy a new bottle ($6) to replace the broken one and continue using the product.
Don't breath in while spraying... it doesn't smell too good (stating the obvious?)

Best wheel cleaner I have ever used.
This product does Exactly what it says. You spray your cool wheels with water then spray each wheel with Poorboys then go back and spay off the Poorboys and your wheels look factory new. I have Big Brembo brakes that dust like crazy and cover my wheels this stuff is NO TOUCH, just spray on and spray off. I cant tell you how impressed I am. I bought three more bottles.
its citrus based
ConsCant use on bare Aluminum.
This stuff is unbelievable, the instructions say you don't need to scrub and they are not kidding. I have a caliper on one wheel that is a little sticky so there is a ton of brake dust on one wheel. I used this on that wheel and Sonax wheel cleaner on the other. The Poorboys cleaner worked better than the Sonax even after I scrubbed the wheel cleaned with Sonax with a wheel brush.
ProsWORKS AS ADVERTISED!!!!!!!!!! Smells great, left no signs of etching or residue on my semi polished Honda S2000 AP2 wheel.

Really is spray on, rinse off. I would exercise caution when using though. While this cleaned my wheels very well, it also removed the paint from my center caps.

Cleans very well
This stuff does a great job cleaning rims. My rims are a bit complicated, so I do have to give them a good scrubbing, but spraying and rinsing removed. Lot of dirt when I tested this stuff out. I'm very happy with it.

Poorboy’s World Spray and Rinse Wheel Cleaner
Definitely the best wheel cleaner I have used. Is positively a no touch product, just spray and rinse.
ProsEasy to use and very effective.
April 16, 2014
This is first product which purports to remove brake dust without scrubbing that actually does what it promises.
ProsRemoves brake dust absolutely, even inner parts of wheel where you couldn't scrub even if you wanted to. Have already ordered gallon refill.
ConsPay attention to warning regarding highly polished aluminum...this is strong stuff

If this is what Poorboys are using what are richboys using?
Nice product. Cleans the tire and wheel easily. Spray and rinse? if you use a pressure washer or have much more water pressure than I do. But it made cleaning dirty dirty BMW wheels a breeze. Spray sit and a lite brushing and rinse. Bang I was done. Usually these wheels are a pain in the keester to clean. This was way better than 3-4 other wheel cleaners that were more expensive per oz..
I have always been used to scrubbing my wheels and just being mad at the brake dust that I would try to get off using cleaner wax....
thought lets try this. I bought the 1 gallon size.
I am in AWE of how great this works. Spray on, use a brush with some soapy water to agitate 3 or 4 minutes later after it has sat on the wheel, and the wheel is perfectly clean... I mean PERFECT!!
I give very few reviews but this has my mind blown. Get it. I've used it on all of our cars and it's been awesome, makes them look BRAND new!
Wax the wheels next time so that it's not nearly as bad or hard to get off...etc.

Best Wheel Cleaner
I used to use a much more hazardous wheel cleaner, but it would actually strip the clearcoat off my wheels! This cleaner works even better than the acid cleaner and is safe for ALL wheels. Highly recommended!

This product does work. No scrubbing needed. Worked great on somewhat nasty Xterra wheels; sprayed this product on, waited, then rinsed it off. All break dust and other nasty stuff disappeared....amazing!

The stuff works great at removing dirt off of wheels. You may have to brush them the first time if they are really dirty though. My only concern is that it stops up the sprayer, my initial results were one use, one destroyed spray nozzle. The easy solution is to take the sprayer part out of the bottle and put into a bottle of water an spray flush it, no problems after that.
One of the most effective touch free wheel cleaners I've used. Fast and effective, even on heavily soiled wheels.

I used this product on my 07 BMW 328I after using 2 products that didn't work. Armor All wheel cleaner and Mothers All wheel cleaners are not for tough brake dust on european vehicles. Poorboys was the only product that worked. I needed to use a brush but, it really removed all of the baked on brake dust. If you dilute it 1:1 it works just like the other products I mentioned above. I like this product and fully recommend.
Works amazing, just spray on and hose off. The sprayer that came with mine lasted about 2 weeks then it wouldn't spray any more.

This stuff works awesome. I like it better than P21s and it's cheaper!
Never have I used a wheel cleaner this good the over spay even cleaned the brake calipers!!!
September 24, 2008
works awesome but be safe
Amazing wheel cleaner, similar to Meg's Wheel Brightener, it really is rinse and spray. No regular over-the-counter wheel cleaner can touch this.
Great to bring back to life really dirty wheels. Once I get 'em clean with this, I usually seal the wheels with sealant and then they can be taken care of with only car soap and water.
But beware! This product contains ABF (ammonium biflouride), a harmful chemical, so wear gloves, don't get this cleaner on your hands and sure as heck make sure it never sprays in your eye.
Poorboy's warns: "Use of protective clothing, gloves and goggles is advisable."
