The Original California™ Dry Water Blade

With the California Dry Blade, water spots will no longer taint the finish of your car. With one simple swipe, your car is dry and ready for sunnier days!

California Car Duster Company sensed it had a winner with the California Water Blade, and like their other product lines, they decided to extend the family with the introduction of the California Dry Blade. Both Blades are crafted with the same technology, and both are equally efficient at removing surface water in a gentle, non-abrasive manner. The two main differences with these products are size and price. The features of the California Dry Blade are just as extensive as its big brother.

Rid Yourself of Towels and Chamois. The California Dry Blade will minimalize, if not completely eradicate, your use of towels and chamois. Gone is the arsenal of towels used to battle water spots. With a lightweight, compact shape, the Dry Blade works faster and easier than towels. Hand and arm stress is also significantly reduced.

Patent pending V-blade Technology. Both Blades use the same patented technology. The California Dry Blade is crafted from medical grade silicone, known for being strong yet suple. The V-blade has made abrasion and scratching a thing of the past. This Blade has passed our tests, including use on the most delicate of surfaces. Together, the shape and material of the Dry Blade create 15 times less friction than drying with towels. This makes this product ideal for clear coat and finicky finishes.

Contouring and Tight Places are a Breeze. Like the Water Blade, the Dry Blade is able to contour to just about any surface of your car, boat, or truck. This includes rounded edges and fenders, as well as tighter places the Water Blade can’t fit into. Drying time is reduced by 35% when comparing with conventional drying methods.

Tremendous Aid to Auto Detailing. There are hundreds of uses for The California Dry Blade, making it versatile for both home and outdoor use. Use it on windows, mirrors, shower doors, and glass entry doors.

Compact and Affordable. The dimensions of The California Dry Blade are 1 3/8” x 11”, smaller in size than the Water Blade. The handle is large and comfortable, made of ABS plastic, and ergonomically designed for long term use without muscle ache. It's affordable as well as effective, costing approximately 40% less than the Water Blade.

While on the subject of the California Water Blade, Max took a few minutes to answer questions about the California Dry Blade:

Q: Max, what is the main difference between The California Water Blade and The California Dry Blade?

Max: Size and pricing. The Dry Blade is a little bit smaller and less expensive than its big brother, but both use the same technology and offer the same quality results with one swipe.

Q: Is this like a squeegee?

Max: Not at all. Squeegees leave surfaces damp, which eventually leaves water spots. The California Dry Blade completely dries the surface, leaving a shiny, spot free finish.

Dimensions: Total Length 10 3/4". V-Blade Length: 10 3/4". Height: 2 3/8".

dry water blade
The handle is so small you can only grab it with two fingers. I had the original years ago which was much bigger then this one. The old one was even more flexible. Not a very good product.
ConsToo small to handle. Not flexible enough.

Better than a squeegee
Only used it once so far. Really speeds up getting the water off a Vette. Need to play with it a little more to really get the windshield perfect. Also good for removing dew from our SLK before lowering the top. Just be sure the surface is clean to preserve the paint and the Dy Blade as well.
ProsWorks as advertised
ConsHandling properly takes a little technique

Not Flexible Enough
Thought that this water blade would be really flexible. Works OK but no revelation, actually less effective than the one I just lost.

Great for saving water and time!
Many days it is so damp in Kentucky so I get a quick free car wash just by using my dry blade to keep my car clean. Other days when it is dry I use a small hand pump sprayer to lightly moisten my car then use the blade.
ProsQuick and easy and does not scratch.
ConsWhen there is pollen or just air pollution you must be sure to moisten down the car or wash it first. This is not a negative but you just can't blade off pollen from a dry surface.

Chatters like a bad wiper
I bought one locally, tried it once and took it back. It did nothing but chatter and vibrate as I "tried" to dry my car. It sure didn't work at all for me

Never seen anything like it, use to use towels to dry a car and this thing makes towels look absolutely primitive. Go BUY one

I love it
I've been using the product for almost 4 years now. It literally cuts drying time by almost 1/2. This products works well on paint and mirrors not just glass. All car detailers should purchase one of these. I have one that it 2 years old and even though its beat up and the silcone part is coming off it still performs very well. I recommend this product. Do not purchase the jelly blade.
