Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax 32 oz.

Wash and wax your vehicle – with one product!

Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax is yet another revolutionary product from Optimum Polymer Technologies. Dr. David Ghodoussi - the brains behind Optimum car care products - managed to fuse his award-winning No Rinse Wash & Shine with the patented UV inhibitors found in Optimum Car Wax to create an all-new product – Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax. The latest innovation from Optimum Polymer Technologies promises to deliver the convenience of a rinseless car wash with the cutting-edge protection of advanced UV inhibitors and high-grade carnauba wax.

When Optimum Polymer Technologies introduced No Rinse Wash & Shine, it changed the way people washed their cars. Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine made it possible to wash your car without a free-flowing source of water. Instead of dragging out the hose and using an excessive amount of water, Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine enabled you to safely wash your car using only a couple gallons of water. Optimum No Rinse Wash & Shine quickly gained recognition as one of the most ground-breaking car care products introduced in the 21st century and the latest offering from Optimum, No Rinse Wash & Wax, continues this trend.

Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax combines the attributes that made No Rinse Wash & Shine such a widely accepted product among car care enthusiasts and professional detailers and supercharges it by adding real carnauba wax and advanced UV inhibitors. After you wash your vehicle with Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax, you’ll immediately notice the crisp, clear reflections that the real carnauba wax imparts on the paint. What’s more, your vehicle will stay cleaner as the carnauba wax will create an immense amount of surface tension, causing water to bead up and roll off.

There is one thing you should know about your vehicle’s paint: the UV inhibitors in your clear coat have a half life of about five years. That means if you don’t keep your vehicle clean and protected on a regular basis, your clear coat will slowly begin to wear away, leaving the color coat exposed to the elements. Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax is a dual-purpose product; you wash your car the environmentally-friendly way while imparting a glossy, protective layer of carnauba wax and advanced UV inhibitors. Vehicles regularly cleaned with Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax will be protected from anything nature can throw at them.

What’s the big deal about rinseless car washes? As more countries enforce stringent water restrictions, it’s becoming more difficult to properly wash your vehicle. In some countries, it’s even illegal to wash your vehicle the traditional way. Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax eliminates the hose and run-off that occurs from rinsing a soapy car. Plus, if you live in an area with cold temperatures or where snow fall occurs, Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax enables you to wash your vehicle inside your garage. Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax is also perfect if you live in an apartment complex and don’t have access to a hose.

Optimum No Rinse Wash & Wax is water-soluble, biodegradable, and meets all water usage laws established by the federal Clean Water Act and the Environmental Protection Agency.

Directions:

  1. Add two gallons of water to a 5 gallon wash bucket and add one ounce of No Rinse Wash & Wax (this will be your wash bucket).
  2. Add three gallons of water to a 5 gallon wash bucket with a Grit Guard Insert in place (this will be your rinse bucket).
  3. Soak several thick, plush microfiber towels (Gold Plush Jr.) in the wash bucket.
  4. Working one panel at a time, fold a towel soaked in the solution four ways (or into a manageable size) and clean the panel.  It is not necessary to scrub.  Flip the towel often if the panel is heavily soiled.
  5. Place the towel in the rinse bucket, agitate it against the Grit Guard Insert, and wring it out before placing it back into the wash bucket.
  6. Using a high-quality drying towel (Guzzler Waffle Weave), gently dry the panel.  Flip the towel to a dry side and give it a quick buff.
  7. Repeat for each panel.
Tech tip: It’s best to start washing at the top of the vehicle and work your way down. This way, you avoid cleaning the same panel twice due to product run-off. As your wash towel becomes heavily soiled, switch to a new one. If the vehicle is excessively dirty (think winter time), it’s best to spray the panel with a waterless wash first to help loosen any dirt.

Totally Awesome
I was one that insisted that the only way to clean a vehicle was with soap, water, hose, etc. I now wipe my vehicle down with this product per the directions. The only time I will do it the previous way is if the vehicle is DIRTY.
Prosease of use. little labor required. little time required.

Using for >3 years without any harm to paint, great wash and wax
Here's my review after 3 years of use on 2 cars, washing them 1-2 times a week. I've never noticed any cumulative harm to the waxed paint. I use this with a sprayer and a costco towel, which are cheap enough to through away. I use in in direct sunlight, and on hot days I take it to a parking garage and wash it in the cool of a covered concrete building. Here's my method:

1 I keep folded microfiber costco towels soaked in Optimum in a sealed container, always ready to go, with a filled sprayer, so I can throw it in the car and wash it anywhere. I make the solution a gallon at a time.
2 If it's really dirty with drive scum, I spray down a panel at a time and let it soak for about the time to dry the previous panel. - Never let it dry, or it will leave spots.
3 Wipe it down a modified Gary Dean method of 1-4 wipes depending on how dirty each wipe makes the towel. Then refold. I easily 2x4 ft. top panel areas with one side of the the folded towel. Fewer on the lower and real panels.
4 Dry each section with a plush towel right after wiping with a circular motion, otherwise it will dry with streaks.
5 When I'm finished with the paint, I do the painted parts of inside the doors and trunk.
6 Then use the dirty towel to wash the wheels, brake calipers and inside of rims if they can be reached. I also use the dirty towel to wipe down the engine compartment.
7 Toss the costco towel, wash the plush one. I found this keeps the wife happy.
8 To make it really shine I'll spray it with a detailer's spray wax -- my favorite is Meguiars Meguiars D156 Synthetic X-press Spray Wax

- I do use a sealant to wax the car every 6 months or so, when it loses that deep shine typical from washing cars. I used a quartz sealant last time and it lasted more than a year ... until I sold the car.

ProsSaves water Does not visibly harm the paint after multiple washing Can be done anywhere You can wash you 30mins or do a quick wash in 15. What you spend in costco towels you save in going to a spray car wash Saves the expense and pain waiting in line at a regular car wash Eliminates the 2-3 bucket prep, Now I use the bucket to transport everything to where I want to wash my car. You can get a yoga-esqe workout if you think about the moves. Limiting it to a gallon means you can use distilled water for the mix, so no water spots possible. I use the filtered water from my under sink faucet.
ConsNone really. After decades of washing cars, the California drought got me looking for a better way and I found this chemical and developed the method playing with it. Other than you have to do it yourself. There's no popcorn like at the real car wash.
