Collinite Paste Fleetwax No. 885

Heavy duty protection for boats and vehicles!

Collinite Paste Fleetwax # 885 seals and shields surfaces against intense environmental conditions, such as salt spray, UV rays, and airborne pollution. Fleetwax has been listed as the #1 rated boat wax three times by two of the industry’s most respected consumer journals.

Use Collinite Paste Fleetwax # 885 on your boat, RV, or vehicle to maintain a glossy shine and lasting protection. Its carnauba-based formula is safe on clear coats as well as the gel coated fiberglass found on RVs and boats.

As with all Collinite waxes, Collinite Paste Fleetwax # 885 forms a virtually indestructible barrier against the outside world. The wax stands up to salt water and spray to protect a boat’s hull from white, chalky oxidation. If it can offer that kind of protection in a harsh, salty environment, rest assured your vehicle will be in good hands with Collinite.

Fleetwax #885 is another excellent choice among the Collinite waxes for winter paint protection because the thick paste formula lasts and lasts. Just like it protects boats from salt water, it will protect your vehicle from road salt. Now that’s one tough wax.

Collinite Paste Fleetwax # 885 is a pure wax with no cleaning properties. Therefore, clean and polish your vehicle (or boat) before applying Fleetwax to get the best shine possible. Collinite Sapphire PreWax Cleaner #840 works well on single stage automotive finishes and gel coated fiberglass (because gel coats are harder than clear coats). For clear coat paint, use a gentler prewax cleaner, like Pinnacle Paintwork Cleansing Lotion.

Collinite Paste Fleetwax # 885 is a thick paste wax. For the easiest application, by hand or machine, dampen the applicator. Use a soft, clean Cobra Microfiber Towel to buff off the wax before it dries.

Depend on Collinite’s unique salt-resistant formula in Paste Fleetwax #885 to defend your vehicle against the elements through rain, shine, salt, or snow.

The best, longest lasting wax I have found
I have tried 3M, Meguires, Collinite 925, Mother's, Turtle Wax, and a few others over the years, and nothing lasts as long as the 885. Don't put on in the sun, make sure the surface is above 50 degrees, and be ready for a work out. I put on with a sponge applicator, and remove with a good quality microfiber. A LOT of good quality microfiber rags. It might not have the impeccable shine that some of the other products do, but it is a great shine for longer.
ProsThe smell. It must mean it?s summer when I get to smell it Long lasting Love the old school can
ConsIt is not the easiest to apply or remove.

As Good As It Gets
This is a great wax. Use it on my boat but just recently used it on a new truck. Truck sat on the lot for 4 months without protection before I bought it. While it looked good on the lot, When I went to detail it, the paint was already in bad shape. The summer heat with rain had the hood in bad shape. As normal, the first step is to correct the blemishes. I used a buffer with 3M, 06068 Ultra-fine. This removed the contaminates and got the paint down to pure paint. Applied the Collinite 885. It looks like the vehicle you would see at the local car show. This wax is not the easiest to work with. If it dry and hardens, if will be tough to remove. The colder it is the harder it is to remove. I apply it in the recommended 2'
' x 2' area. Then use a microfiber towel to remove it. After doing a few area's, I then only remove most of the wax with the first microfiber towel and proceed to use a clean microfiber towel to remove the residual wax. There is no need to use a polisher to remove it. That will only heat up the wax allowing for a thinner layer.
ProsDurable Long lasting Great shine
ConsPay attention top the instructions

i found out about collinite 885 from a vendor at the carlisle corvette show aug 2016. the vendor was selling corvette steering wheels and had his corvette in the booth with him. i noticed how shiny the finish was on his car and he smiled - i asked what he does to get these results and then he walked over to a box in the corner and pulled off a couple micro cloths and pulled the can of collinite 885. he said it is the "silent" winner when it comes to car shows! i came home. ordered it and my 1962 vet has NEVER looked so good! VERY SHINY!!!!!
Proseasy to apply and shine with micro cloth

Hard as Coffin nails...
Pleased-Old fashioned wax your dad used to use, not the shiniest, but after 2.5 mos. water slides right off, bird bombs wipe off with a little detail spray, and won't scar the paint. With a black car I need all the help I can get...Excellent, hard as a Tiger Tanks tracks....Thank-you Auto Geek, well done.
ProsProtects (really!), not too terrible to apply, long lasting...Good Price, will last a long time..
ConsBe careful with your rubber & vinyl trim...That's it.

Collinite wax
I used the Collinite wax two days ago and was happy with the performance. I ordered two cans of wax and noticed when I went to use them that one can had a screw driver size hole in the side of the can. The hole went completely through. If you need a picture, I can take one on my cell phone and email it to you. Other than that, the wax was easy to apply and looks great.
