McKee's 37 Universal Detailing Clay & Lube Combo
Clean paint deep down with McKee's 37 Universal Clay and Universal Clay Lubricant!
Clean paint is essential to a clear, glossy finish. Tiny bumps and grit not only detract from the shine, they indicate a more serious problem: potential oxidation. Removing tiny contaminants from the clear coat will prevent oxidation and enhance the clarity and shine of the wax coat. The only way to achieve this clarity is by using detailing clay.
If you’ve never used detailing clay or you’re looking for something new, we’ve got the deal for you! For a limited time, you can purchase the McKee's 37 Universal Detailing Clay Special. This kit includes a 4 ounce McKee's 37 Universal Detailing Clay Bar and a 16 oz. bottle of McKee's 37 Universal Clay Lubricant for a special low price of $22.99.
4 oz. McKee's 37 Universal Detailing Clay
McKee's 37 Universal Detailing Clay is a special clay compound that safely and quickly removes contaminants that lie below the clear coat surface. Clay works by grabbing foreign particles and pulling them out of the clear coat as you rub the bar across the paint surface. Washing only removes surface contaminants, but your vehicle may still have microscopic particles embedded in the clear coat. These particles are hard to see individually, but together they can cause dull, rough patches that detract from the paint’s appearance. McKee's 37 Universal Detailing Clay will remove these contaminants and restore a glassy smooth finish to your vehicle. Once wax is applied, the paint will feel silky smooth and have a bright, glossy shimmer.
16 oz. McKee's 37 Universal Detailing Clay Lubricant
McKee's 37 Universal Clay Lubricant is a high lubricity formula that allows gritty particles removed from the clearcoat to glide just above the surface of the paint. It thoroughly wets the paint surface to enable you to rub the clay bar effortlessly. The lubricant spray contains no gloss agents so you can see the true results of the clay bar. When you are finished claying an area, use McKee's 37 Universal Clay Lubricant to remove any clay residue. It can also be used to remove fingerprints and dust in between details. The water-based formula will not degrade synthetic or natural clay, and overspray will not affect glass, metal, plastic, or rubber. Use it with McKee's 37 Universal Detailing Clay to create a smooth, silky finish that is completely clean.

This kit is a bargain because the 4 ounce bar of clay is enough to clean 8-12 vehicles! Slice the bar into quarters – 2 oz. is all you need for 3-4 vehicles. Keep the rest of the bar stored in its case until you need it. The 16 oz. bottle of McKee's 37 Universal Detailing Clay is more than enough to keep all these vehicles well-lubricated throughout the clay process.
The perfect finish starts with perfectly clean paint! The McKee's 37 Universal Detailing Clay & Lube Combo will take your vehicle’s paint to a new level of clean for a price that’s hard to beat!
- On a freshly washed vehicle, mist a 2 ft. x 2 ft. area of paint with McKee's 37 Universal Clay Lubricant.
- Gently rub the clay bar back and forth across the wet area only. It will grab initially. This is the clay grabbing contaminants that protrude above the clear coat surface. When the clay glides freely, the surface is clean.
- Wipe off the area with a clean microfiber towel. Use the clay lubricant to remove any remaining clay residue.
- Before moving on to the next section, inspect the clay to see if it appears soiled. If so, reshape the clay to reveal a clean side. If you drop the clay on the ground, discard it.
- To store the clay, moisten it with clay lubricant and seal it in a plastic bag within its plastic case.

I went ahead and tried to use it as much as I could but it just didn't seem to pick up any of the fine contaminants in the paint. I have never had this issue even with the products I purchased at local auto stores. Anyways, I swapped back to my Chemical Guys grey clay and it took everything thing off the paint really quickly.
Overall, I wouldn't waste my money on this kit again. Not only was the clay very stiff, it didn't want to pick up contaminants that were very visible. Plus, you only get one small bar in this kit as opposed to most of the other kits that come with double this amount.
