3M Door Edge Paint Protection Films 08582
Transparent protection where your vehicle needs it most.
3M Door Edge Paint Protection Films are just like the protection films offered by car dealerships for around $120, but you can apply them yourself for a fraction of the cost! These clear, adhesive films protect door edges from chips and abrasion. They require no special care and they virtually disappear when applied to the doors. Use 3M Door Edge Paint Protection Films on most cars, trucks, SUVs, and vans.
We've all seen what regular wear and tear can do to the paint at the edge of a car door. It sometimes looks like the paint is worn off! The paint at panel edges is thinner and it needs protection to keep it in tact over the life of your vehicle. 3M Door Edge Paint Protection Films provide clear protection against rocks, door dings, abrasion, and weathering. The film strips are clear coated to resist yellowing and staining.
The film is extremely durable.
3M Door Edge Paint Protection Films are incredibly durable! This product line was created during the Vietnam war to help protect helicopter blades from being damaged in battles where shrapnel would hit the blade. You can see from the image to the right that a screwdriver will not pierce the tough material.
Installation is easy. Make sure the door edges are clean and free of waxes or oils. Simply peel back the protective paper as you press the 3M film along the edge of the door with half the film extended beyond the edge of the door. Press the film strip to eliminate any air bubbles. Then fold the film over the door edge and press it down on the back of the door edge.
Note: If the doors already have paint chips, you can apply touch-up paint prior to applying 3M Scotchgard Door Edge Paint Protection Films. Allow the paint to fully dry before applying the films.
Once 3M Door Edge Paint Protection Films are applied, no special care is needed. After 24 hours, the vehicle can be washed and waxed as usual. If you ever want to remove 3M Door Edge Paint Protection Films, they peel off cleanly with no damage to the paint.
