Works, but little practical advantage for manual use
February 23, 2014
I was curious about all the hoo-haw about Nanoskin so I bought this as an experiment. I am happy to report that it works just fine. I only clay my car once a year, so I can't speak to its long-term durability, but I would be surprised if it weren't at least OK--probably its pretty good.
I see Nanoskin as something that would offer a real advantage to those who use it on a dual action polisher. Any pro should definitely use this product. Active hobbyists should as well.
Me? Yeah, I'll probably break down and buy the bonnet. I have that very expensive Dual Action polisher I have to justify.
Pros:Works. Probably is a handy thing to have for those who go to a Nanoskin bonnet for a dual action polisher for getting to the smaller spots.
Cons:No real advantage to those who substitute this for an occasional clay bar of a car by hand. The whole Nanoskin thing is sort of of a rip. This is really just a bit of plastic that happens to be the right consistency to act as a clay bar. Its not high tech. But its priced right at the clay bar price. I guess that's just Econ 101.
