An honest review. Purchased new the 8hp unit to use on my black Audi A8 which I am extremely picky about. Have used it five times now. What a great unit. If you do not want to rub your car over and over, this unit is perfect. It is quick but for me it is about no touch and drying all the nooks and crannies. I does run 18 amps but I installed a 20 amp circuit in the garage and works with no issue. HERE ARE SOME GOOD TIPS: Do not use in garage, I did and it just blows anything dirty in the garage around dust wise. If the nozzle points to the floor it blows it on the paint. I was not happy. 2. Outside is best BUT again from experience hose down the area of driveway where the car sits and then some. This keeps dust and dirt from flying around. 3. The blowing air is very powerful. Hang on tight so you do not drop the hose and it hits the car paint. You drop it and the hose thrashes around. 4. You will need ear protectors. It is not that loud until you get close to something and then it is very loud (blowing air). Overall excellent investment, again it does not dry the car in 2 seconds, it takes time but what a job especially on the rims. Takes some practice to get the proper angle to blow the water away.
Pros:You are using warm air
You touch paint way less
gets all the nooks that a towel cannot get, amazing on rims, grill, mirrors
air circulation is very good
attachments supplied for various ends are very usable
Cons:A bit loud for early morning use - not a design flaw.
cord and hose could be longer.
The o ring to attach hose to the unit needs to double. one is not enough I find.
No matter what anyone says - do not use with 15 amp, you need at least 20.
a bit pricey
The warm air takes a little long to happen at start up.
