The FLEX XC3401 Changeable Backing Plate System by Lake Country allows you to change from a 4 inch backing plate to a 6 inch backing plate using a specially designed gear plate. You can use every size pad from 4 inches to 6.5 inches with this three-piece system on your FLEX XC3401 VRG Orbital Polisher. Now you don't have to buy a specific backing plate for each size pad - the FLEX XC3401 Changeable Backing Plate System works for all sizes!
1. Place the gear plate onto the polisher once the factory plate has been removed.
2. Place the backing plate so the tabs around the edge lock into the slots on the gear plate.
3. Tighten the backing plate in place with the FLEX hex wrench.
The system consists of a gear plate that attaches to the polisher in place of its factory backing plate. Onto this gear plate, you can mount either a 4 inch or 6 inch backing plate. Both options are included. These backing plates are designed specifically for this gear plate. They each attach securely to the polisher with the wrench included with your FLEX. Once in place, the backing plates perform like part of the machine. Hook and loop fasteners allow you to change pads quickly.
The FLEX XC3401 Changeable Backing Plate System will allow you to use 4 inch, 5 inch, and 6.5 inch pads with just the three pieces included here. Perform spot detailing with your 4 inch pads. Then easily switch to 6.5 inch pads for all-over buffing.
