The Right Polishing Pads for Car Care
This Lake Country dual-action polishing pad kit offers the following color-coded choices:
Yellow aggressive cutting pads
Use this pad to apply compounds or polishes to remove severe oxidation, swirls, and scratches. It is the most aggressive and should only be used on oxidized and heavily swirled finishes. Always follow this pad with a white or gray pad and a fine polish to refine the paint until it is smooth.
Orange light cutting pads
Firm, high density foam for medium scratch and defect removal. Use this pad with polishes and swirl removers. It's an all around pad that will work on most light to moderate imperfections.
White heavy polishing pads
Less dense foam formula for the application of cleaner waxes, one step polishes, or "all in one" type products. This pad has very light cutting power, so it's perfect for pre-wax cleaners. Perfect for light defect correction and swirl removal.
Black finishing pads
This pad is not as dense as the green polishing pad and provides little cutting ability. Generally used to polish to perfect, this pad will leave a high shine on the surface. Perfect for use with a finishing glaze, last-step polish, and some all-in-one cleaner polishes.
Each polishing and cutting pad is made using imported German foam that has less heat build-up and transfer than lower-quality foams. The excellent paint contact and smaller size help your polisher be more efficient. These pads also have a beveled edge that is less likely to gouge the paint.
