A very mild finishing polish designed for orbital polishers.

Griot's Garage Machine Polish 3 is a very mild polish designed to remove light paint imperfections and restore a showroom shine when applied with an orbital polisher. This mild formula breaks down into smaller and smaller polishing agents to leave the smoothest possible finish. Use Griot's Garage Machine Polish 3 as a finishing polish or an any-time shine-enhancing polish.

Griot's machine polishes are different from most swirl removers. They are created specifically for a random orbital polisher (unlike other polishes that are created for rotary buffers) where the friction and temperature on the paint is almost non-existent. Griot's polishing granules are engineered to break down under light pressure, getting smaller and smaller as you use the polish.

Griot's unique chemistry also does away with 50% of the old solvents, allowing you to clean up with water! No other polish does that.

Griot's Garage Machine Polishes are safe and effective at removing swirl marks and scratches from all painted surfaces. Always start with our very mild polish, Machine Polish 3, and repeat as often as you want, until the scratch is gone. If you have severe oxidation or heavy scratches, drop down to Machine Polish 2, or Griot's Machine Polish 1 if need be, then finish up with Machine Polish 3. Machine Polish 4 is Griot's very finest polish and should be used on like-new finishes.

Griot's 6 inch Orbital Polisher & Griot's Machine Polish 3

Apply Griot's Machine Polish 3 with the Griot's Orange Polishing Pad to remove very light imperfections and restore gloss.

Griot's Orange Polishing Pad

Use the Griot's Garage Orbital Polisher to apply Machine Polish 3.

Griot's Garage Machine Polish 3 should be applied with a dual action orbital polisher, like Griot's Garage 6 inch Random Orbital Polisher, using a 6 inch Orange Polishing Pad. Work at a moderate speed as you slowly work the polish in overlapping passes. Buff with a Griot's Garage Micro Fiber Wax Removal Cloth. Always follow with Griot's Garage Paint Sealant, Carnauba Wax Stick or the fabulous Best of Show Wax® for a truly flawless finish.

On most paint reconditioning jobs, Griot's Garage Machine Polish 3 is your final polish. It contains enough polishing action to remove any light swirl marks left by Machine Polish 1 or 2, yet it's gentle enough to leave the paint looking perfect.

First time user
As a first time user I didn't struggle in using this product. I used the 5 dot method to apply to my cutting pad and spread everything around before going over it. I'm not sure if this product came off easy or not as I have nothing to compare it to, but I didn't struggle to remove it at all. Overall results were great, but I had set my expectations way to high.

Washed, clayed, polished, and waxed a 2002 ford ranger that had never seen this cleaning process in it's life. Turned out great but I did not get rid of all the swirls.

Mistakes I made: 1)Didn't do a test spot to see if the pad/product combo was going to be strong enough to give me the results I wanted. 2)Didn't press down hard enough because of fear of removing too much cc. 3)Didn't clean my pad so towards the end it was dusting a lot.
ProsEasy to follow instructions

Excellent "first pass" polish
Unfortunately, I live in the "snow belt", where brushes are used all winter long, to remove accumulated snow from our cars. This can leave fine scratches in the car's finish, and every couple of years I have to give the car a good buffing. The Machine Polish 3 is good for smoothing out the deeper scratches, then a follow-up with Machine Polish 4 takes care of any swirl marks that are left behind.
ProsIt's a product that works well
ConsNone that I'm aware of
