From humble beginnings sprang the car care dynasty that is Meguiar's. Interestingly, the first Meguiar's “wax” was for furniture. Frank Meguiar, Jr., the founding father of the company, mixed the furniture polish one bottle at a time using an eggbeater. Once the first wooden automobiles were introduced, Frank saw a golden opportunity to expand his business. You could honestly say that Meguiar’s was around before the car!

Today, Meguiar’s is run by Frank’s grandson, Barry Meguiar. Over the last century, Meguiar’s has expanded from a small family operation to a huge family corporation with operations in Hong Kong, Toronto, Paris, and Sydney, as well as their base in Irvine, California. One bottle of furniture polish has turned into over 300 different products to clean, polish, and protect automobiles.
