White 5.5 inch Low Profile Polishing Pads

Our 5.5 inch Dual Action White Polishing Pads are designed to maximize the polishing ability of your Porter Cable 7424 with a smaller, lighter pad. The pads feature closed cell foam with edge to edge hook & loop backing.

A dual action polisher, such as the Porter Cable 7424, works by spinning the pad and orbiting it around a central spindle to produce a jiggling motion. Large foam pads tend to bog down the polisher, which is why 6.5 inch pads are the recommended size for a dual action. However, while larger pads are not recommended, smaller pads like the 5.5 inch pads can produce excellent results because the compact pads allow the machine to work at its intended speed and motion.

The 5.5 inch Dual Action White Polishing Pads are made of the same closed cell, white polishing foam as Lake Country’s 6.5, 7.5, and 8.5 inch pads. This foam gives finishing polishes and prewax cleaners added polishing ability to smooth and shine the paint before the application of a wax or sealant.

With minimal pressure applied to them, many detailers find that the 5.5 inch White Polishing Pads move more efficiently on the paint and polishes break down with greater ease because there is less foam between backing plate and the paint to buffer heat. Even with thinner foam pads, the Porter Cable 7424 is still the safest way to polish by machine.

Each pad has high quality hook & loop backing from edge to edge to hold the pad securely on the backing plate during operation. Use a 5 inch Lake Country dual action backing plate with these pads.

Wash the 5.5 inch Dual Action White Polishing Pads with DP Polishing Pad Rejuvenator. Allow pads to soak in 3-4 gallons of water with 1 scoop of the Rejuvenator. Rinse and lay to dry.
