The biggest concern with rotary polishers is their tendency to produce a lot of heat during operation. In inexperienced hands, this heat is a quick way to burn automotive paint. The Edge 2000 Wave 8 inch Foam Pads are designed to reduce heat build-up, thereby reducing the risk of burning the paint.
The Edge 2000 Wave 8 inch Foam Pads have a wavy, waffle design that allows excellent venting as the pad spins. The high points of the foam provide constant paint contact as the pad spins while the low points allow heat to disperse. The Edge 2000 Wave Foam Pads provide the same polishing ability as the original Edge 2000 pads plus a smart wave texture.
A unique feature of the 8 inch Edge Wave Pads is the beveled edge. The bevel allows you to access tight areas more easily with a high speed rotary polisher.
The Edge 2000 Wave Foam Pads are the only double-sided wave pads you can buy. They attach to your polisher by way of a Quick Connect Adapter. Simply screw the adapter into your rotary polisher and pop the 8 inch pad in place. When one side becomes soiled, push the button on the end of the adapter to release the pad. Flip the pad and continue polishing!
The Edge 2000 Wave Foam Pads are always perfectly balanced because the pads are held in place by a center adapter. The pads are always centered, balanced and lay flat on the paint surface.
The pads come in 4 varieties:
Yellow Heavy Cutting Pad
This pad is aggressive and will cut through deep surface marks and swirls. The yellow pads work well on heavy oxidation and pitted finishes, and will remove wet sand scratches without causing burning. 40 pores per inch (ppi)
Green Medium Cutting Pad
This pad is useful for light oxidation and moderate to severe swirls and imperfections. This pad will yield amazing results on aging vehicles, and should be used on vehicles with moderate swirls and imperfections. Add a compound or swirl remover for a flawless finish. 50 pores per inch (ppi)
Blue Soft Polishing Pad
This pad is great for regular use. It will leave surface areas scratch-free and smooth while still removing light swirls and imperfections. Use with pre-wax cleaners and finishing polishes to improve gloss. Safe on clear coats. 70 pores per inch (ppi)
White Ultrafine Finishing Pad
The white pad is ultra smooth and ultra soft. The white pad leaves a bold, crystalline gloss on new and just-detailed vehicles. Apply waxes, sealants, and glazes with the white pad.
Red LSP Finishing Pad
The red pad is softer than the white pad, which makes it perfect for new car finishes. Apply last step products, like waxes, sealants and glazes without fear of abrasion. The red pad also makes layering products easier. Apply multiple coats of your favorite wax or sealant with the red lsp foam pad.
