Triple-filtered for maximum purity and performance!
DP Premium Surface Shield Paint Sealant goes through a proprietary refining process that yields a pure paint sealant with the lowest percentage of VOC’s of any paint sealant currently on the market. It’s not just safer for you; it’s safer for your vehicle’s paint and long term use will prove it.
One of the most important ingredients in Premium Surface Shield is water. Let me explain. Water exists in car care products as a carrier. That means that the ingredients that make the product work swim around in water to keep them in liquid form. That’s the only purpose the water serves. Once the product hits your vehicle, the water begins to evaporate and the remaining “active” ingredients bond to your paint finish.
The other carrier alternative is a chemical solvent, a.k.a. a VOC. Solvents also evaporate when used as a carrier but not before hurting the paint and hurting the product’s longevity. Paint thinner and alcohol are solvents; they cut through coatings, paints, adhesives, etc. It’s no surprise that a solvent carrier will gradually dry out the top layer of paint or clear coat, and inhibit the bonding of the polymers contained in the car care product.
Like I said, water is one of the most important ingredients in DP Premium Surface Shield Paint Sealant. As the carrier, water allows the sealant to bond with the paint without altering its shine or texture.
If you were to routinely apply DP Premium Surface Shield Paint Sealant to one half of a car’s hood and any solvent-based sealant to the other half for 12 months; you’d see a gradual dulling on the half treated with the solvent-based sealant. The side treated with our water-based sealant would remain glossy and vibrant.
DP is so committed to supplying you with a premium product, the water pumped into our manufacturing facility is now triple-filtered. This is a costly procedure but it yields fantastic results. Most car care companies do not filter the incoming water at all, but we consider it a necessary step to giving your vehicle the ultimate finish.
Here’s how it works:
The first step is sediment filtering. This is done at the water treatment plant, but we do it again to be sure the water is free of debris.
Step two is dechlorination. While chlorine is added to water to purify it, an excess of chlorine acts as an oxidizing agent.
Step three is reverse osmosis, which reduces dissolved solids. This is the same process used by microelectronics, food and beverage, and pharmaceutical plants to control the purity and quality of the products they make. For example, a certain chain of premium coffee shops uses only reverse osmosis water in their coffees and signature beverages because the quality of the water has a huge impact on the quality of their drinks. We felt it’s just as important to the quality of DP products that the water used in manufacturing is just as pure and clean.
Our pure water base is then blended with proprietary polymers, glossing agents and UV inhibitors. These ingredients give DP Premium Surface Shield its slick gloss and its durable protective properties. Once the sealant is applied to your clean paint, the water evaporates leaving only a slippery layer of crystal clear polymers infused with strong UV protection.
DP Premium Surface Shield’s finish far exceeds the lifeless shine attributed to early paint sealants. The reflective liquid polymers and glossing agents “wet” the paint to give it a dynamic, mirror-like shimmer. Reflections will appear crisp and clear, even on light-colored paints. It’s the kind of finish that makes you look back at your vehicle as you’re walking through a parking lot and causes strangers to ask what’s on the paint. It’s that glossy!
As I said before, DP Premium Surface Shield Paint Sealant is better for your vehicle’s paint than solvent-based products. It nourishes and hydrates the top layer of paint so it retains it’s factory-fresh gloss and smoothness. A finish that’s protected from the beginning of ownership will require less maintenance over the long-run and get a higher resale value.
Here in Florida, where DP products are manufactured and tested, paint protection is imperative! Besides the intense sun, the summer brings daily showers and the ocean creates a high concentration of salt in the air. Without durable polymer protection, a paint finish can deteriorate in a few short years.
DP Premium Surface Shield Paint Sealant drastically slows the aging process of your vehicle. Your vehicle will look great now and years down the road!
DP Premium Surface Shield Paint Sealant does have some special application requirements to enjoy its full benefits. Once applied to the entire vehicle and buffed, the sealant needs to cure for approximately 12 hours before being exposed to water. This unique formula is oxygen-activated: any exposure to water after the sealant is applied will cause the polymers to “drown”. For maximum bonding and longevity, park the vehicle in a garage or away from sprinklers for a period of 12 hours.
Once cured, DP Premium Surface Shield Paint Sealant will protect your vehicle for 3 to 4 months from environmental pollution, UV degradation, salt, and acid rain. All the while, it dresses up your paint finish in a crystal clear, glossy, polymer suit that is sure to turn heads!
Enjoy a safer, slicker gloss and unbeatable paint protection with triple-filtered, water-based DP Premium Surface Shield Paint Sealant.

Directions:
1. To maximize the performance of
this or any paint protection, clean and polish the paint first. Use DP
Xtreme Foam Formula High Yield Foaming Auto Shampoo or DP Auto Bath
Shampoo followed by DP Final Finishing Polish to create a clean,
smooth paint surface.
2.
Pour a small amount of DP Premium Surface
Shield Paint Sealant onto a Poly Foam
Applicator Pad and apply it to the entire vehicle in a thin, even
coat.

3. Another applicator option is the
Pinnacle Polishin’ Pal outfitted with a gray 4 inch finishing pad.
The pad is a smaller version of the 6.5 inch finishing pad with the same
density and texture. Use it to apply a thin coat of DP Premium Surface
Shield Paint Sealant by hand.
4. Wait 30-45 minutes
for the sealant to dry and then buff it off with a soft microfiber towel.
Generally, by the time you’ve applied sealant to the entire vehicle, you can
begin buffing where you first applied the sealant.
5.
After buffing, allow the sealant to cure for 12 hours before exposing
the vehicle to any moisture.
6.
If you prefer, you can apply this product with your Porter Cable 7424
and a gray finishing pad. Work at a speed no greater than 4 and do not apply
pressure. Use a microfiber bonnet for buffing. Allow the sealant to cure as
directed.
