The 5.5 inch Low Profile Pads by Lake Country maximize the performance of the Porter Cable 7424 by buffering it less against the paint. The size of these foam pads is an asset when concentrating on isolated areas of the paint and, with two foam varieties to choose from, the 5.5 inch Low Profile Pad Combo helps you correct and polish the paint.

A dual action polisher, such as the Porter Cable 7424, works by spinning the pad and orbiting it around a central spindle to produce a jiggling motion. Large foam pads tend to bog down the polisher, which is why 6.5 inch pads are the recommended size for a dual action. However, while larger pads are not recommended, smaller pads like the 5.5 inch pads can produce excellent results because the compact pads allow the machine to work at its intended speed and motion.

With minimal pressure applied to them, many detailers find that the 5.5 inch White Polishing Pads move more efficiently on the paint and polishes break down with greater ease because there is less foam between backing plate and the paint to buffer heat. Even with thinner foam pads, the Porter Cable 7424 is still the safest way to polish by machine.

Each pad has high quality hook & loop backing from edge to edge to hold the pad securely on the backing plate during operation. Use a 5 inch dual action backing plate with these pads.

These pads are cut from the same type of foam as Lake Country’s larger polishing pads. Use the pads with cleaner waxes, prewax cleaners, finishing polishes, and very light swirl removers to render a beautiful finish on your vehicle.

2 Gray 5.5 inch Low Profile Finishing Pads
The 5.5 inch Low Profile Gray Finishing Pads are made of the same closed cell, gray finishing foam as Lake Country’s 6.5, 7.5, and 8.5 inch pads. This soft, nonabrasive foam applies smooth, even coats of waxes or sealants using your dual action polisher.
