Purchased one of these for myself a few years ago and find it invaluable for summertime washing. The sponge (pad) feels rough and looks like it would damage your paint but when used correctly with warm soapy water, I have never found it to scratch and I have a black vehicle. The pad is also durable. Mine is showing its age but its seen a lot of use. Just bought a case for Christmas because I want to get these into the hands of my friends and neighbors who like to borrow mine from time to time. An inexpensive gift that should be much appreciated by anyone who washes their own vehicles. You can't go wrong here. Try one, you'll like it.
Pros:Very effective at removing bug residue and other miscellaneous surface debris from your vehicle.
Cons:A little bulky. A person with small hands (females) may find it a little uncomfortable to work with.
More expensive than traditional bug sponges.
Requires warm soapy water for best and safest results.
